THOMPSONS LIMITED

As a leading Canadian supplier of food grade beans, Thompsons is well recognized by both domestic and international food companies. We have been exporting white pea beans to Europe since the late 1930’s and Special Quality White Hilum Soybeans (SQWH) since 1975 to Southeast Asia and Europe. England, Switzerland, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong are key areas of export.

Thompsons was the first grain elevator in the world to obtain SQF Level 3 accreditation.

With the abundance of genetically modified soybeans (GMO) in the market today, we supply our customers that utilize container shipments with Non-GMO Identity Preserved varieties. For those customers requiring larger volumes of over 10,000 mt per year, Thompsons have developed a contract program with our producer/growers which supplies specific varieties of approved soybeans that are non-GMO. These varieties are co-mingled and shipped via truck or rail to our designated ports for export via conventional vessel.

We have developed a Non-GMO manual which outlines the steps that we go though to ensure all possible due diligence is exercised from the seeding through harvesting, storing, and shipping to our designated ports. A copy of this manual is available, for viewing at our facilities.

Wild Valley Farms

The Wild Valley Farms Story started over 150 years ago when our ancestors came to the U.S. following their religion to the mountains of Utah. They settled in the small town of Croydon Utah, buying ground from a friend they started a farm raising chickens, a few cows and a few sheep. Over the years the family grew and so did the ranching operation, many family members had to leave the farm and ranch to try and make a living for their families. The chicken farm turned into more of a sheep and cattle ranch.
Today we run over 200 head of cattle and 2,600 head of sheep, the ranch is run by a father and two sons. In 2013 M.R. Wilde and Sons partnered with Woodscape of Utah a manufacturer of landscape products in Salt Lake City to create a premium compost for sell through Woodscape of Utah. As this venture expanded M.R. Wilde and Sons had to contact other farmers and ranchers to pick up their manures. The Wilde's seeing the need of using all natural products for gardens, lawns, and flower beds, created more products to sell through Woodscape and this lead to the creation of Wild Valley Farms in 2015. Allowing all natural farm products to be delivered to consumers who care about where their gardening supplies come from.
One of our innovative products are wool pellets. Our Story of creating Wool Pellets: For generations we have raised sheep and cows on our family farm here in Utah. Our cows help us to make steer manure and compost. We wanted to see if our sheep could help gardens too! We tried pelletizing some of our sheep’s wool initially because we had found research which showed wool repelled snails. After more research and testing we found that wool is extremely high in Nitrogen and takes months to break down. This makes it a perfect all-natural fertilizer! Wool also naturally absorbs water – about 20x its weight – so with it you can water less! As wool soaks in water, it fluffs up and expands. This creates more porosity (oxygen) in the soil. This gives space for your roots to grow bigger and stronger. The nutrition in the wool helps to grow strong, healthy, beautiful plants that need no other fertilizer!
Wild Valley Farms is a family owned farm and ranch and is committed to helping the farming and ranching families to be successful and profitable. We hope every person can become educated about farming and ranching and recognize the contributions of American farming!

WKP Compost

WKP Compost originated in the Oklahoma Panhandle in 2013. The family business started as a desire to create a quality compost that benefited the local farmers and their soil for many years to come. After much research and then actually implementing the composting process, we realized that “composting” means many different things to many people. We use the usual method of composting by turning and watering the raw manure regularly, allowing it to "bake" out any unwanted pathogens (such as E. Coli, Salmonella etc) & the weed seeds that would be prevalent in raw manure.

In allowing nature to take it’s course through the natural heating process, microbial activity was enhanced, decomposition took place, and the final product resulted in a dark, rich soil that contained only an earthy smell, no "stinking" manure smell was found! We found that other people who compost will often utilize the same process, but would not take the project through the completed stages, which often times left a smell, live pathogens, and seeds that were not properly killed.

Local people quickly began to inquire about purchasing compost, so we decided that it just made sense to package the compost in 1 cubit foot bags, thus, Grooovy Poo evolved! The design of the whimsical dairy cow depicts the compost’s origin, while the colorful bag incorporates the various colors one would see in their garden or flower bed. Our product is currently being reviewed to become OMRI certified in the US & Canada.

YieldOrganic

Knowing Farmers stand at the beginning of the food chain, our mission is to help farmers maximize their number one asset, their land and our definition of success is taking good seed to great nutrition.

If we build it, will they come? How are Organic/Non-GMO commodities marketed? What about all of the inputs that will be needed? How much work is it really? Then next came the weeds. No one likes weeds…

It has truly been an evolutionary process that is continually unfolding. Hardly experts, but weathered by the learning curve the desire to share and take away some of the pain points for others that were encountered led to the development of YieldOrganic.

We bring Producers and Buyers together. Both sides value transparency and quality and YieldOrganic delivers both.
Enjoy the peace of mind knowing that Organic/Non-GMO large scale commodities sold will be accepted at the elevator.
No curve balls just good business.

We support and encourage your transition to Organic/Non-GMO farming methods through shared experiences, connections, trust, testing and delivery. Our intention is to help you maximize your number one asset, your land.
